Cause Area: Arts
It is with great pleasure that we recognize Mrs. Carol Stone at the 2016 Spirit of Volunteerism Awards for her outstanding leadership and tireless efforts in addressing and raising awareness about Hope Center for the Arts in our community.
Hope is a multi-faceted fine arts program for adults with intellectual disabilities designed to serve individuals showing talent, interest or motivation in the arts.
It is astounding is how the efforts of one person, one particular person, can truly make a difference in addressing this need. She served as the President and CEO of the Volunteer Center Orange County (Currently OneOC) for twenty-five years. As a veteran leader, she has openly shared her talents and abilities to create innovative solutions and improve community impact to Hope Center for the Arts on a very deep level.
Carol strives to utilize every available “pulpit” in her efforts to raise awareness about our cause. She serves as our strongest community ambassador and has presented our program to various civic, social groups and clubs. She has organized letter-writing campaigns on behalf of funding for Hope.
Because of these efforts, Carol has earned the respect and gratitude of those for whom and with whom she serves here at Hope Center for the Arts. Carol has inspired and motivated me to service.
