Honoree: Chrissy Peterson
Honored by: Wells Fargo
Chrissy Peterson has a significant impact on the organization Beads of Courage. She has been involved with our organization since 2009 and has been a huge advocate for our “Carry a Bead” program. The Beads of Courage Program helps children and youth coping with serious illness record, own, and tell their stories of courage through colorful beads that symbolize their treatment journey. Among the most coveted are special “Act of Courage” beads, given to acknowledge achievements and milestones requiring extraordinary courage. Beads of Courage needs YOU to Carry A Bead and be a hero to a child coping with serious illness. The bead you carry and return will be given as an “Act of Courage” bead to a child in the Beads of Courage Program – a gift of shared strength to encourage a child on their toughest treatment days. Her commitment as an advocate for the Carry program has been unwavering in Orange County. She participates in several events including running races, hikes, and sporting events in California, Arizona and Texas. She carries a bead at each event and speaks to others at the event about Beads of Courage and how they can help a child. She continues to introduce her coworkers and friends to the program and invite them to order a Carry a Bead Kit. She had the opportunity to work closely with a family receiving beads through the beads of courage program in Orange County and carried a bead in their child’s name and honor. She is dedicated to her community and helping others.
