Honoree: Dale Hudson
Honored by: American Red Cross
Cause Area: Human Services
Dale Hudson has served on the board of the Orange County American Red Cross since 2007. He served as Chair of the Development Committee in 2015. He does this while maintaining his busy work schedule with Nixon Peabody. Dale is a long-serving American Red Cross volunteer, who has guided the organization through changes in Board and Red Cross leadership. Dale never hesitates to serve “on the ground” for mission delivery, working alongside other Red Cross volunteers. He has helped install smoke detectors at a Home Fire campaign event and has been a leader on the Board, encouraging his colleagues to become involved in the mission of the Red Cross. As a leader in this year’s fundraising effort Dale led by example; navigating the microsite, reaching out to colleagues, family, and community members for donations. Under his leadership, the board team achieved their fundraising goal for this recent board event. By participating in chapter events and encouraging volunteer participation, Dale sets an example for other board members and volunteers. He actively participates in the various board committees, challenging them to achieve results from their efforts. He is instrumental in finding new and involved board members. When asked, he always makes an attempt to attend events to represent the American Red Cross and the board. He guides the board fundraising efforts, lending his support to these efforts. He is pushing for new ways to return value to the organization, reviewing the board activities and programs with the committees. Thank you Dale for all you do!
